It's summer in the city and loads of people are escaping to beautiful Fairfield County to get away and beat the heat. Summer in Fairfield means tennis, pool time, picnics, outdoor concerts, parties, and most importantly the beach! But not just any beach, the local beautiful point off Sound Beach Road called Tod's Point.

What's In Your Beach Bag?
Lots of kids sun block, Toys (buckets, shovels, sand castle shaped buckets…, Football, Beach towels , Sunglasses

What do you like to do at Tod's Point?
"I like to read on the beach and listen to music." –Maria (Visiting her aunt Alejandra and cousins from Spain.) "Right now I am reading Prisoners in the Palace."

"I like to swim in the sea!" –Casilda

Any advice for other parents out there who want to bring the whole family to the beach for an afternoon?

"Yes, I pack lightly and in smaller bags so the older children can all help and get us to the beach." –Alejandra Goyarrola

"I also put on the babies sunscreen when we are still at the house so it is easier when we arrive here. I trust Banana Boat on my baby and I use Neutrogena. It is light weight and easy to apply." –AG

What Do You Like About Fairfield County?
"I love everything about Greenwich- It has so much to offer, especially Tod's Point. My family loves to have picnics here."

"Bring Up The Bodies," by Hilary Mantel
"I love Hilary Mantel. Her books are really well written." -Jennifer

What makes Tod's Point so special?
"Tod's Point is so beautiful. I love to watch the green grass against the blue sky. It is so relaxing out here. I prefer the beach to the pool and so when the kids are in camp I try to sneak in some time out here."

Tell us a little bit about what you do?
"Well we are highly trained. We swim each and every day to maintain our physicality in case someone were ever to need us out in the water. Time matters. But we mostly deal with dehydration and small cuts from the rocks so we keep up with our first aid training just as much.

Any advice for the public?
"Yes, wear sunscreen and drink lots of water."

What's the hardest Part Of Your Job?
"When it storms and we have to clear the beach. People can be verbally aggressive and we are just doing our jobs."

What's the best part of your job?
"All the lifeguards are really close. We barbeque in the picnic area together after we get off duty and go to the movies together. We call it our "family time.""

What's your favorite thing about Tod's Point?
"I love all of the diversity Tod's attracts. It's a beautiful place and so tons of people from all around come out. I hear Spanish and French being spoken a lot on the beach."

Any last minute summer plans?
"Just life guarding, spending time with family and friends, and getting ready to start senior year." - Emma

What's your favorite part of Tod's Point?
"The smell, sounds, and sights." –Kristina

"I've been coming here since I was in elementary school- I LOVE IT HERE! The beach is a magnet pulling me here." –Jerry

"I love bringing my kids out here. My son is taking sailing over here this summer. It's the best program offered in Greenwich! Its healthy and fun and not only is he learning about sailing, but he's also learning all about the water, and environment around him. It's a great program!"

What's in your beach bag?
"We didn't bring much today. Just our beach chairs, towels, water, and sunscreen."

What's Your Best/Fondest/Craziest memory of Tod's Point?
"When I was growing up we used to come out here as a family with our neighbors, get a hot dog, if we were good a Charleston-chew, and spend the day out here. Tod's has evolved into a more exclusive thing now which has it's ups and downs, but I will always remember those days when we would all come out here and spend the day at the beach." –Kristina

"I was a volunteer fire fighter over here and one day we got a call that this guy had just crashed an old WWII plane on Tod's Point. We all rushed out here, no one was hurt thank goodness, but it was crazy. That's my fun memory." –Jerry

Any last minute summer plans?
"Well after this I'm going to take a bike ride around the point. It's so relaxing." -Jerry

"I'm going to take a cool shower and then take a nap before dinner." –Kristina
