The Mount Sinai Children’s Environmental Health Center (CEHC) held its third annual “Greening Our Children” benefit luncheon at the Greenwich Country Club in Greenwich, Connecticut on Wednesday, May 12. The CEHC, led by Mount Sinai’s Philip Landrigan, MD, Professor and Chair of Community and Preventive Medicine, is currently involved in several research projects to identify and explain the potential environmental causes of childhood diseases, including asthma, autism, obesity, ADHD, diabetes and cancers. Proceeds from this event will continue to fund upcoming research initiatives and projects at the CEHC.

This year's honored guest and keynote speaker was Laurie David, environmental activist, who is best known for her efforts to stop global warming. Alexandra Bergstein and Mary Kennedy served as co-chairs of the event. The afternoon included an elegant organic lunch and a silent auction of eco-friendly items. The event was sold out for the third year with nearly 400 people in attendance.
