Approximately 600 friends and supporters gathered April 4 for the Fairfield County Community Foundation’s Fund for Women and Girls luncheon. This year’s theme, Connecting to the heart of what matters, spotlighted that women are the heart of society. When women and girls are empowered to reach their full potential, all of society benefits. Thanks to our supporters, the Fund for Women and Girls has grown to be the largest fund of its kind in New England, awarding more than $2.3 million in grants to help girls cope with bullying, dating violence and sexual assault and to help women struggling to raise a family earn advanced degrees and move into better paying careers.
