Breast Cancer Alliance of Greenwich Kids for a Cause Fashion Show
Greenwich, CTFebruary 5, 2017
On Sunday, February 5th Breast Cancer Alliance’s second annual Kids for a Cause fashion show, with the cutest little models you have ever seen, had everyone at Round Hill Club forgetting Super Bowl for a few hours. With outfits selected and organized by committee member Kathy Morrissy and her store, Hoagland’s of Greenwich, young boys and girls strutted their stuff down the runway all for a good cause. There was face-painting and balloon animals to keep all of the kids entertained before and after the runway show, and plenty of refreshments for the whole family to enjoy.
Co-Chairs Molly Fahner Calhoun said: “We’re honored to support a wonderful organization that’s making a profound difference in the lives of women with breast cancer. With Kids for a Cause we’re helping to raise critical funds, build awareness, support important research—and also teach children what it means to actively participate in making a difference. This event allows families to support the BCA in a format that’s both inspiring and a whole lot of fun.
Co-Chair Lindley Pless told the room, “The BCA has a small staff, but they are getting so much done to help those suffering with breast cancer. Their work is so important and we are thrilled to host this event to bring more awareness to their cause. It’s always fun to see precious little children walking on a runway, but it’s even more special when it’s for a meaningful reason. “
Since its inception the organization has awarded more than $22 million in grants, supporting its mission to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure. Yonni Wattenmaker, Executive Director said “This is an adorable and enjoyable way to get younger families involved with Breast Cancer Alliance. Parents can support this cause that affects 1 in 8 women, and even some men, and raise funding for our mission without missing out on quality family time. We have a wonderful committee and a generous partner in Hoagland’s and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!”CLICK AN IMAGE TO ENLARGE
