Greenwich Historical Society Volunteer Recognition
Greenwich, CTApril 12, 2017
On April 12, 2017, the Greenwich Historical Society held its annual Volunteer Recognition event to acknowledge its many volunteers at the Round Hill Club. Board member Bea Crumbine was presented with the 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award for spearheading the Historical Society’s exhibition From Italy to America, which documented the contributions made by Italian immigrants in shaping so many aspects of our town. Bea’s efforts not only drew the spotlight to the Italian community but also resulted in sister city status for Greenwich with both Rose and Morra de Sanctis, Italy, where many of Greenwich’s Italian families originated. Also recognized was youth volunteer Ana Heavey, who throughout her high school years, helped develop programs for the Girl Scouts at the Historical Society and served as a junior advisor on the Education Committee. Three outgoing Antiquarius volunteers were recognized for their leadership roles: Suzanne Eason Hopson in the area of logistics and transportation; Deb Robinson for the Patron and Preview Party and Carrie Emery for garnering patron support.
On behalf of the board and staff of the Greenwich Historical Society, executive director Debra Mecky expressed thanks to all the wonderful volunteers for sharing their “time, energy, creativity and support. We wouldn’t be able to do everything we do without them.”CLICK AN IMAGE TO ENLARGE
