Delamar Greenwich HarborOctober 3, 2015
India Cultural Center of Greenwich hosted its 3rd Annual Gala on October 3rd at l’escale Restaurant in Greenwich, CT. VIP guests Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman Jim Himes, State Representative Caroline Simmons and First Selectman Peter Tesei joined the nearly 300 guests, many in festive Indian attire, who celebrated the organization’s work.
Margie French, ICC Greenwich’s new Executive Director, welcomed guests and observed that the evening’s cuisine and Bhangra Dance and Hindustani Jazz Fusion performances illustrate how Indian arts are reimagined under Western influences.
The annual gala is ICC Greenwich’s main fundraiser and supports ongoing culinary, performing, cinematic and literary arts events and children’s classes in Indian cultural arts and chess and math, both of which have roots in the Indian subcontinent. Funds from the gala will support expansion of ICC Greenwich’s mission to promote Indian culture and arts to the Indian American diaspora and the community at large in the Lower Fairfield and Westchester areas.
Newcomer to Greenwich, Shreve, Crump & Low sponsored the event along with New York City galleries DAG Modern and Kapoor Galleries.
