Portugal’s visitor numbers have spiked to record highs as people discover its trendy city neighborhoods and remote windswept islands, museums and music, wine and beaches. The entry point to one of the hottest countries in the world now to visit is usually Lisbon, so here are some suggestions for how to spend three days in this beautiful capital city.
Nina Lindia lights up a room. As one of the co-founders of Pitch Your Peers (PYP) – a women’s grant making organization-she makes hearts light up across Greenwich. Her vision is enthusiastic, her goals are major: today Greenwich, tomorrow the country. It was 2015. Nina was 35 and the mother of two very little ones when she had the kernel of an idea: to launch a women’s giving collective that is run like a boardroom. Think of it as a sort of Shark Tank for charity.

Like most of my conversations, they usually consist of something fitness related. (Deep down I think we are all a little fitness obsessed.) The only one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World in the U.S., the Grand Canyon celebrated its 100th anniversary as a national park in February. Of course it’s much older than that. There’s controversy about how old exactly, but the park states that it “preserves an iconic geologic landscape and resources ranging from 1,840 to 270 million years old.” Human history there can be dated back more than 10,000 years.
