Where are you from? Where did you grow up?
I was born in Germany, but grew up in California from two years on.
Where did you study?
Describe your personal style.
Have your life experiences affected how and what you design?
I have travelled extensively and spent many summers overseas. My father was a pilot which allowed me to travel all over the world. It showed me how different the style of people’s homes are from country to country. There are so many options beyond our mainstream sources. I work hard to create each house to be unique to the client’s lifestyle and character. With all of the choices out there, it would be a shame if every house was the same.
What comes to mind when you think of the American Red Cross?
The act of giving service, time, assistance. The presence of the American Red Cross is special in that it goes beyond just America and shows that our country is humanitarian on a global basis.
If you were to design table tops for a celebrity or historical figure, who would it be and why?
Queen Elizabeth. The detail and elegance of royal formal dinners is fabulous. Nothing is spared. The plates, linens, florals and candelabras are second to none. Each piece is laid out with a measuring tape. All of the pieces are sterling silver, hand painted gold, lead crystal. There are incredible antiques with history at every meal.
