Breast Cancer Alliance spends a lot of time talking to, and about, breast cancer survivors; one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, with higher odds in Fairfield County. What are their support systems? How important is the ecosystem which gets a breast cancer patient through treatment? One survivor, BCA Board Member, Nina Lindia, will tell you that her support team was not only essential but medically impactful, and continues to benefit her now, six years into her survivorship. Great support doesn’t stop after treatment. If there’s a breast cancer patient or survivor in your life, take the time to watch this video, and share it with them. You might just be surprised to learn Nina’s advice on how being encouraged and empowered by her best friend changed her whole perspective…for the better.
