Cathy Purple Cherry

I am the founding principal of Purple Cherry Architecture & Interiors. Our studio is comprised of nearly 40 professionals across five offices (New York City, DC, Annapolis, Charlottesville, Middleburg) and we are honored to take on projects throughout the country. While our portfolio spans a range of aesthetics, the core of our work is rooted in a timeless, classical, traditional vernacular. We are also known for our signature view-oriented design ethos—whether a mountain, waterfront, pasture, or city skyline view, our architecture and interiors are always deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.⁠ We are just as focused on functionality and practicality as we are on beauty in our designs.

What was the inspiration for your tablescape?

My tablescape was inspired by my grandmother’s beautiful china. The colors guided our selection of a stunning Schumacher fabric for the tablecloth and the addition of a delightfully unique antique birdcage from High Point Market.

Who would you invite as guests to this table?

I would invite Bette Midler, Michelangelo, and Hugh Jackman, and I would take the last seat so I can ask them all the questions I would like!
