Greenwich Emergency Medical Service 30th Anniversary Dinner

Greenwich, CTFebruary 25, 2017

On Saturday, February 25th more than 100 guests attended the Greenwich Emergency Medical Service, Inc. (GEMS) 30th Anniversary Dinner at Gabriele’s Italian Steakhouse. The festive evening highlighted milestones GEMS achieved over the last three decades while honoring patients who have benefited from its life-saving mission. More than $65,000 was raised for the independent, 501(c)3 non-profit’s capital fund. Each year, GEMS replaces one ambulance and maintains state-of-the-art medical equipment to provide progressive emergency pre-hospital care and rapid response rates to the citizens of Greenwich. The cost of a fully-equipped ambulance is $360,614, which is more than double than ten years ago. Having cutting-edge medical equipment has enabled GEMS respond to more than 150,000 emergency calls and achieve a cardiac arrest save rate of 34-38%, which is double the experience of the best in nation. The evening included cakes donated by ten local bakeries and one GEMS employee. To learn more or support GEMS visit
