North Salem, NYOctober 4, 2021
The Regional Hospice 10th Annual Golf Classic welcomed supporters to the Salem Golf Club in North Salem, New York on October 4, 2021 to recognize former Regional Hospice patient and Brookfield resident, Bill Leverence, who spent the end of his life under the caring support of staff and volunteers at the organization’s residential Center for Comfort Care & Healing.
The event, Chaired by John Capilli of Ridgefield, Connecticut began with an afternoon shotgun followed by cocktails and live music by The Owl’s Next Band, in which Mr. Leverence had been a member. The dinner program featured a poignant video about the Leverence family’s experience with death and dying. The video, produced by Emmy-Award winning producer, Brook Altman of Highline Interactive and featuring Sandy Leverence and Regional Hospice President & CEO, Cynthia Emiry Roy, MS, LCSW, CHA can been viewed here.
An online auction included a Montauk get-away, an exclusive golfing opportunity on Fisher’s Island and a New Hampshire ski house among other destinations and items. All funds raised will support the $1.8 million that Regional Hospice provides in free, unreimbursed patient care and services each year.
