Summer Camp Scholarship Program:
The YMCA of Greenwich launched a Summer Camp Scholarship Program for the children of COVID-19 essential workers, partnering with Greenwich Hospital, the Greenwich Police Department, the Greenwich Fire Department, and GEMS. To kick off the fundraising, the YMCA of Greenwich hosted an event on Tuesday, April 27th that was attended by State Representative Harry Arora, Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo, Police Chief Jim Heavey, GEMS Executive Director Tracy Schietinger, Tom Milucci and Heather Studwell of Greenwich Hospital, and YMCA of Greenwich Chairman of the Board Shahryar Oveissi, among others. Summer camp scholarship recipients will enjoy eight weeks of theme-based fun, daily swim lessons, and other activities. This program is the YMCA’s way to show its appreciation to the healthcare workers and first responders who kept Greenwich safe during the pandemic. The YMCA has provided services supporting the community for over 100 years, and this program continues that tradition.
