With mask mandates loosening across the country, there has never been a better time to invest in a good facial before you begin showing your face to the world again. If you are anything like me, you have been milking the opportunity to go sans makeup, or at least wear less than usual, over the past 15 months. And while going makeup-free most days has helped to clear my skin to a certain degree, I rightfully fell off my typically regimented skincare routine that involved frequent facials in a pre-COVID world. Sadly, I have had more trips to the dermatologist to address mask acne than leisurely facials over the last year, though recently got back in the saddle with a Geneo facial, and all I have to say is WOW!
Geneo’s high-tech, 3-in-1 facial treatment has a patented oxygenation process that triggers the body’s natural, physiological process to increase oxygen levels internally, unlike any other facial you’ve ever had. This means immediate younger, supple, and fresher-looking skin that lasts for more than just a day or two. My post-facial glow lasted for nearly two weeks and my skin tone looked even and bright, as if I had woken up with cc cream and highlighter on every morning. It even shone through on Zoom and FaceTime, precipitating a wave of compliments from friends and colleagues asking what products I was using. In the few weeks post-Geneo, my face was also completely blemish-free for the first time since I can remember. As someone who has battled adult acne with bouts of hyperpigmentation for the better part of a decade, my face is typically a point of insecurity, so I am not exaggerating when I say I’ve never felt more confident in my skin.
Perhaps the best part is that Geneo treatments can be customized to address your personal skincare needs because one size most definitely does not fit all when it comes to varying skin types. Choose between the Balance Facial, which uses charcoal to detox, target impurities, and address acne and oily skin, the Revive Facial, which uses red algae and is focused on improving elasticity, fine lines and signs of aging, or the Illuminate Facial, which uses Vitamin C and unifies uneven skin tones and hyperpigmentation, or the Hydrate Facial, which uses blue spirulina and a host of other refreshing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E and Vitamin B to hydrate and revive dry, dull skin. All four options deliver natural sources of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to improve skin’s overall health and appearance, and each includes exfoliation, oxygenation, and nourishment. And if you’re wary of people touching your face, rest assured as the Geneo facial can be a completely hands-free experience, with all primers, gels, and serums applied with brushes.
The treatments are offered in various spas and skin care clinics nationwide including Greenwich Medical Spa in Scarsdale and Westport Medispa, as well as a ton of places in NYC. I went to the Trifecta Med Spa in Midtown Manhattan and this facial was absolutely worth making a trip into the city for. While the Geneo facial is a great addition to any pre-event routine, you certainly don’t need a special occasion beyond the excitement of a hopeful return to a normal summer to treat yourself to one.Photo Credit: Geneo
