She honed her craft through design classes and hands-on experience, eventually founding Green of Greenwich in 2012. Susan joined the team a decade later, having initially taken one of Flavia’s floral design classes. The chemistry between the two was instant, and Susan’s business savvy and creative instincts proved the perfect match to take the studio to new heights. Together, they’ve cultivated a studio that is both a sanctuary for botanical artistry and a hub for high-touch service.
The design studio itself is a floral dreamscape. Tucked into an airy and inviting space, it’s used not only for floral design but also for community events, classes, and celebrations. With regular visits from neighbors and even their landlord SBP Homes, the studio exudes warmth and creativity. Their team of four, supported by a close network of freelance helpers, works collaboratively to craft everything from wedding centerpieces to editorial photo shoot arrangements, always tailoring the blooms to match the client’s aesthetic.
Green of Greenwich sources its florals both locally and internationally, receiving fresh shipments from California, Florida, Europe, and South America. While early morning runs to the New York flower market are sometimes necessary, they primarily work with a trusted circle of vendors who deliver straight to their studio. Their process is deeply personal—from initial consultations and mood boards to custom container selections (either hand-picked or rediscovered in a client’s own cabinets), every step is curated with care.
