Born from a love of design and game night, Center & Spring builds a fun and functional line of game-inspired tables and accessories centered around its mission to bring people together to build community and have conversations, as well as some friendly competition.

The company was founded in 2025 by interior designer Peyton Cochran and entrepreneur Sandi Wright after Peyton’s custom mahjong table stole the show at the Rooms With A View show house.

The co-founders bring together the perfect mix of design, vision and entrepreneurial spirit. Peyton, a designer with experience at several award-winning firms, blends timeless style with creative storytelling to craft pieces that are both functional and beautiful. Sandi, an entrepreneur and social impact advisor with 25+ years of experience in Fortune 500 companies, fashion, e-commerce, and nonprofits, is known for building high-impact partnerships, fusing meaningful connections and working with ventures that have a double and triple bottom line.

The lifestyle brand is proudly women-owned and items are locally made in Connecticut. As proud “Purveyors of Happy,” every piece is crafted with intention, infused with play, and destined for memories.

What was the inspiration for your tablescape?

Peyton and Sandi brought together a mix of design, vision and entrepreneurial spirit to their tablescape “ACK All A-Glow.” While virtually any game can be played on the table, this table was set for a lively game of mahjong. Center & Spring’s inaugural tiles set from its destination collection, “The ACK Tiles” were displayed on racks and sprinkled in the center of the table, as if a game were taking place.

The center canister, which can hold a set of tiles, cards and other gaming items, as well as an ice bucket for apres-game, was removed and in its place a festive tree was “planted” to serve as the focal point.

Gently hung on the silver branches were gemstone pins which belonged to Sandi’s mother-in-law, Suzanne, as well as holiday-esq birds designed by Peyton. Finally, the table’s hidden pull-out tray drawers, lined with unique paper which can be customized, were extended to keep essentials (like a phone and a glass of the player’s favorite beverage) close at hand.

Who would you invite as guests to this table?

Peyton’s sister Lee, and Sandi’s mom, Marygrace would absolutely be the first guests. Lee was the inspiration for Peyton’s design of the table and Marygrace is the reason Sandi started to play mahjong.

We hope everyone will gather around the table and play! Friends, old and new, kids, and especially members of our Ambassador program and the students they teach! Our Ambassadors are instructors of mahjong and other games that are played on our tables and are integral members of our community, helping to introduce Center & Spring to new audiences. Our community is growing rapidly, and we are always welcoming new ambassadors to the Center & Spring family.
