The Junior Rowing Program at The Saugatuck Rowing Club was started in 1993 and has earned a reputation for providing the best setting for young athletes to grow and mature into better rowers, athletes, and human beings. Rowing is one of the most physiologically and mentally demanding sports that the world has to offer, and has always been one which pushes its practitioners to excel in every aspect of their life. The Saugatuck Rowing Club believes that this provides the perfect setting to develop children into hard working and resilient young adults who push themselves to go above and beyond, whether it be on the water, on the rowing machine, or in the classroom.

The Program is open to both boys and girls ages 12-18. Practices in the spring, summer and fall seasons consist of both water and land training while the winter season is completely indoors. There are two programs for enrollment, Beginner/Intermediate, and Competitive. In Beginner/Intermediate, young athletes will learn the importance of teamwork while having fun, meeting new friends, and developing competence in the sport of rowing. In the Competitive Program, athletes will aim to compete in races whose scope ranges all the way from the local to the national scale.
