YWCA Greenwich will be holding its 7th Annual Women Who Inspire Awards to recognize exceptional women in our community. YWCA Greenwich’s Women Who Inspire Awards was established to recognize and celebrate outstanding women who have excelled in philanthropic, professional, and volunteer pursuits. Importantly, these honorees have enriched the lives of many in our community. This event acknowledges the changes in society that have led to the fluidity of work/life pursuits for women of today.

Kathryn Webster grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. She received Bachelor of Science degrees in Statistics and Computer Science with high honors from Wake Forest University. Her scholastic achievements propelled Kathryn into a career in management consulting at Deloitte & Touché, LLP. She graduated with her MBA from Harvard Business School in 2023 as the first totally blind person to have earned this degree from Harvard, something Kathryn hopes to change very near-term.

Kathryn works as a Principal at KKR, the leading global investment firm, based in New York City. Her early career began at Deloitte & Touché, LLP., where she specialized in strategic transformation and business process reengineering.

Kathryn spearheaded the creation of a mentorship program, Project RISE, under the National Federation of the Blind, for blind and low-vision youth across the state of Virginia. She currently serves on the boards of Lighthouse of San Francisco, Jacobus tenBroek Memorial Fund and Business Opportunities for the Blind. Kathryn is a leader in the National Federation of the Blind and previously served as President of the National Association of Blind Students, the largest organization promoting independence and confidence for blind students.

Kathryn recognizes the value in intertwining corporate prowess with civic engagement, thus the impetus for founding and serving as President of the national nonprofit: Together Achieving Dreams (TAD) Foundation Inc.

She believes TAD will completely transform the way society, corporations, and families view the blind and low vision communities by increasing employment for this community as it sits stagnantly at 75% since the 1970s. She approaches each day with the motivation to break the stigma and prove that blind people can achieve anything they want in the world.

Kathryn is a strong thought leader across various communities, hence the ignition to found TAD Foundation, most notably named after her father, Tad, who passed away in 2017. She is a resident of Greenwich and is engaged to her fiancé, Joe and is a proud dog mom to guide dog, Theo.
