YWCA Greenwich will be holding its 7th Annual Women Who Inspire Awards to recognize exceptional women in our community. YWCA Greenwich’s Women Who Inspire Awards was established to recognize and celebrate outstanding women who have excelled in philanthropic, professional, and volunteer pursuits. Importantly, these honorees have enriched the lives of many in our community. This event acknowledges the changes in society that have led to the fluidity of work/life pursuits for women of today.

Greenwich Pediatric Dental Group, LLC, opened its doors in the late summer of 2005 on Sherwood Place, founded by Dr. Stacy Zarakiotis and her trusted friend, Deme Legatos, the current office manager. Before establishing GPDG, Dr. Zarakiotis practiced in New York City for many years, gaining valuable experience and a reputation for compassionate care.

The practice was designed to treat children from infancy through adolescence, as well as mentally and physically compromised adults and children. From the beginning, Dr. Zarakiotis became known in the community as a caring and trusted provider who could even make dental visits enjoyable! Their airport themed offices transport young patients to exciting destinations, transforming the dental experience into an imaginative adventure.

The Team

In 2018, Dr. Emily Gabeler joined the practice, bringing eight years of experience from her time in Fairfield. She is deeply committed to her community and her family, which includes her husband and three children. Dr. Gabeler is an active member of her Rye community.

Dr. Marissa Ruggiero, a Greenwich native, joined GPDG in 2022. Returning to her hometown to serve the community she loves; Dr. Ruggiero has become an integral part of the practice. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and family.

Dr. Stacy’s exceptional contributions have not gone unnoticed. In 2016, she received a YWCA Greenwich BRAVA award recognizing her dedication to her community. Alongside her partners, she remains committed to supporting local and national organizations focused on children’s health and well-being, including Operation Smile, Abilis and the Greenwich Reindeer Festival among others. Since 2009, Dr. Stacy has been consistently recognized “Best Dentist” by both Connecticut Magazine and Greenwich Magazine, as voted by her peers.

What began as a solo practice has grown into a thriving family of 20 professionals, with three accomplished female dentists at the helm. The doctors attribute their success to the unwavering support of their families, friends, colleagues, and especially their loyal patients and parents. GPDG has proudly cared for well over 10,000 patients since 2005, providing top-quality dental care in a friendly and welcoming environment while giving back to the community they call home.
