YWCA Greenwich will be holding its 5th Annual Women Who Inspire Awards to recognize exceptional women in our community. YWCA Greenwich’s Women Who Inspire Awards was established to recognize and celebrate outstanding women who have excelled in philanthropic, professional, and volunteer pursuits. Importantly, these honorees have enriched the lives of many in our community. This event acknowledges the changes in society that have led to the fluidity of work/life pursuits for women of today.

Ms. Bordelon is the Chief Executive Officer of SilverSource, Inc., an independent, regional nonprofit organization that provides information, resources, and emergency financial support for housing, food, medical care, transportation and a range of programs and solutions for the extraordinary challenges faced by the older adult population. She leads business, strategy and fund development for the organization while upholding a culture of compassion. She is co-chair of the newly formed Stamford Mayors’ Council on Older Adults, and she leads a professional networking program, to raise awareness of critical issues facing the growing population of older adults.

Her prior experience includes leadership roles in both corporate and non-profit organizations. Her career began in corporate marketing consulting primarily in the area of emerging technology and telecommunications and strategic corporate events including the 1984 Olympics. She served as the Director of Strategic Alliances and National Marketing manager at the American Management Association; Chief Marketing Officer of an IT professional services firm and Communications Practice Leader for a professional services consultancy where she oversaw employee benefits communications and web based employee portal development.

As Executive Director of a national literacy program she directed a nationwide vocabulary program that introduced science, technology, engineering and math concepts through a partnership with NASA, and oversaw annual production of a TV special for NBC. Prior to joining SilverSource, she served as the National Director of Volunteers for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society where she introduced best practices for chapter and national board development and recruitment. She received a BFA in Communications from the New School for Social Research University & Parsons School of Design. She is a life-long learner and completed a certificate program in organizational change at MIT.

She is a member of the Stamford Rotary Club and previously served on the Board of Governors of the New Canaan Historical Society and the Selleck’s Corner Chapel and Cemetery Association, in New Canaan, CT. She also previously served six years as Vice President of the Board of the Connecticut
Yankee Council/BSA; Past president of Battell-Stoeckel Associates supporting the Yale Summer School of Music, and the Norfolk Historical Society.

She is the mother of 28-year-old twins, a son and daughter. She lives in Trumbull CT with her three dogs and is an active gardener!
