YWCA Greenwich will be holding its 8th Annual Women Who Inspire Awards to recognize exceptional women in our community. YWCA Greenwich’s Women Who Inspire Awards was established to recognize and celebrate outstanding women who have excelled in philanthropic, professional, and volunteer pursuits. Importantly, these honorees have enriched the lives of many in our community. This event acknowledges the changes in society that have led to the fluidity of work/life pursuits for women of today.

Laura Jordan is a public affairs leader focused on healthcare. Her career spans more than two decades of government, law, and community engagement, advancing policies and programs that strengthen access, equity, and well-being across Connecticut. Since 2019, Laura has served as Director of Government Affairs and Community Relations at Stamford Health, where she leads strategic partnerships that connect healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies to improve community health outcomes.

A defining chapter of Laura’s leadership emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she spearheaded Stamford Health’s groundbreaking No Barriers vaccination initiative. Designed to eliminate cultural, technological, language, and documentation obstacles, the program-built trust within underserved communities and significantly expanded access to care. Through Laura’s tireless outreach and collaboration with community partners, Stamford achieved one of the highest vaccination rates in Connecticut — a powerful testament to her ability to unite stakeholders and deliver life-saving impact.

Before joining Stamford Health, Laura held senior leadership roles across both the public and private sectors,

including Senior Director of Government Affairs for Altice USA, Assistant Treasurer for Policy for the State of Connecticut, and Chief Counsel to the Speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Her work has consistently focused on navigating complex systems to expand opportunity and protect vulnerable populations.

Beyond her professional career, Laura is deeply committed to community service. She serves on the boards of Building One Community, Filling In the Blanks, Connecticut Legal Services, and the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. She also co-chairs the Vita Health & Wellness Partnership Core Committee, fostering collaboration among local agencies to address health disparities. She also volunteers with numerous Stamford nonprofits and organizes more than 25 physician-led educational panels and community health events each year to promote health literacy.

Laura earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law and is a member of the Connecticut Bar. Known for her humility, compassion, and collaborative leadership, Laura’s work reflects a deep belief in equity, access, and empowering communities.
