Under bright blue skies on Sunday, May 3, Breast Cancer Alliance’s 2026 5K for HOPE brought Greenwich together in a record-breaking show of support. More than 750 registered participants — runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters — filled Richards parking lot, raising more than $125,000 to fund free breast cancer screenings and diagnostic services for underserved women throughout Connecticut and Westchester County.

A highlight of the morning was the presentation of the BCA Hospitality Legacy Award to Ramze Zakka, founder of Z Hospitality, honoring his longstanding commitment to BCA’s mission. Greenwich Selectman Fred Camillo and CT State Senator Ryan Fazio also addressed the crowd, speaking to the importance of community partnerships and early detection.

Guests had the opportunity to tour the Hartford Hospital Mammogram Van, a BCA-funded mobile screening program bringing critical care directly into communities across Connecticut. Team spirit ran high, with Greenwich Academy fielding the largest team (95 participants) and Presenting Sponsor Omnicom Group close behind with more than 50.

The event’s success reflects the dedication of co-chairs Claire Weil, Traci Erenfryd, Melissa Heinberg, and Jennifer Savner, along with BCA’s generous sponsors, partners, and supporters.

More than a race, the 5K for HOPE is a powerful reminder of what community can accomplish together.
