On Sunday, May 4, more than 600 participants gathered at Richards in Greenwich for Breast Cancer Alliance’s 5K for Hope, raising over $100,000 in support of BCA’s lifesaving early detection programs for underserved women in Connecticut and Westchester County.

The event was co-chaired by Elise and Evan Margolin and Rebecca and Luke Davis, whose leadership was instrumental in the day’s success. In memory of a dear friend lost to breast cancer, the Davises gathered an impressive 42-person team called, Stronger Together. The morning brought together families, students, survivors, and supporters—including over 25 teams—to walk or run in solidarity. A virtual option allowed participants nationwide to take part from wherever they were.

BCA President, Karen Colella welcomed attendees and presented the BCA Corporate Philanthropy Award to the event’s Presenting Sponsor, Omnicom Group, recognizing nearly two decades of generous support. Denis Streiff, CFO of Omnicom Advertising Group Worldwide, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

The festive atmosphere featured more than thirty sponsors. Breakfast was generously provided by Z Hospitality Group, live music was provided by DJ Shane Kirsch, and Hartford HealthCare’s mobile mammography van, which was made possible through BCA grant funding, offered tours. Greenwich Dance Studio energized the crowd with a dynamic kickoff, while Greenwich Cheer cheered on race finishers and closed the day with a spirited routine.

A record-breaking day of joy and remembrance, this year’s BCA 5K for Hope showcased the power of the Greenwich community in providing critical screening services for women.
