Impact Fairfield County officially launched its ninth year of grantmaking at their Fall Kickoff event held at The Stamford Nature Center on Wednesday, November 8th. Over 100 women from across the county came together to connect with one another, learn about how to support Impact FFC’s transformative work, and celebrate last year’s $100,000 grant winners, The Center for Empowerment and Education and Catholic Academy of Bridgeport. A volunteer-run women’s collective giving organization which pools membership funds to provide large grants to deserving local organizations, Impact FFC has awarded over $1.8 million since its founding. Membership is open to all woman from Fairfield County who join through December 31, 2023 for this year’s grant cycle.

Co-Presidents, Jenny San Jose and Kristen Rosenbaum, shared stories about the needs in Fairfield County and how Impact FFC’s grantees are meeting those needs. Attendees also heard from Lizzy Scheinfeld, an Impact FFC member who has volunteered her time on grant review committees. Cara During from The Center for Empowerment and Education, and Sister Elizabeth Doyle, Principal of the St. Raphael campus of Catholic Academy of Bridgeport, both revealed how their organizations have been able to better serve their communities as a direct result of Impact FFC Grants.
