Waterside School Graduation: 100% Acceptance. $10M in Generous Scholarships. One Purpose.

Waterside is a Pre-K through 5th grade independent school in Stamford founded on the belief that every child deserves a world-class education, regardless of socioeconomic status. Each Waterside student receives need-based financial aid. Tuition covers 5% of the cost to educate each student, and the remaining 95% relies on the generosity of donors.

In June, Waterside celebrated its largest-ever graduating class, with 26 outstanding 5th grade scholars and two early graduates. For the 14th consecutive year, 100% of graduates were accepted to top independent schools in CT and NY. Collectively, these students are projected to receive $10 million in scholarships through high school.

One new graduate reflected sentiments of the entire class: “This is where we grew up and where our family is. As we prepare to explore the world, we do so with confidence, knowing we’ll always have a home to return to.”

Alumna and graduation speaker Kristina Kendall ’11 captured Waterside’s spirit: “Waterside cultivated within me not just academic prowess, but a spirit of resilience and ambition. This early investment in my growth helped me understand the importance of self-investment.”

The Kruger Cup – Waterside’s highest honor, named after founder Konrad “Chip” Kruger – was awarded to Madison Gomez (King School ’32) for her leadership.
