YWCA Greenwich had a perfect, sunny Sunday morning for their annual Walk the Walk & 5K Run Against Domestic Violence in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park led by co-chairs Tracy Guarnera, Police Chief Jim Heavey, Heather Sahrbeck and Krissy Schmitz. Over 200 participants started their morning by walking or running to help put an end to domestic violence in Greenwich. Held every year on the first Sunday of October, this event kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, which the Town of Greenwich acknowledges with a reading of a proclamation by First Selectman Fred Camillo. President and CEO of YWCA Greenwich, Mary Lee Kiernan, and Director of the Harmony Project, Jacqueline Collazo, thanked guests for their participation and emphasized the importance of their support.
